Adriane Riddle Obituary
ADRIANE LUCILE RIDDLE passed away June 9, 2003 at the age of 20. She was born on August 13, 1982 in San Bernardino to Bruce and Anita Riddle. She completed her freshman year at San Jose State University and her 1st Semester at San Marcos State as a sophomore. Adriane had many special Honors, Hobbies, talents and personal accomplishments of which include; From 1996-1997; Scholar Athletic Award, won 3 swimming events at League Finals, went to CIF 2 events, 200 IM and 100 back, member of the National Honor Society. From 1997-1998 she was voted All League CIF Water Polo, National Honor Society, 1st runner up in county History project, won 4 swimming events at League Finals went to CIF in 200 IM, and 2 relays. From 1998-1999 Adrian went to CIF Quarter Finals in Water Polo, Voted 3rd Team ALL CIF Water Polo, voted All League CIF Water, went to CIF in 4 events (50 free, 100 back, 6th in 200 free relay, and 7th in Medley Relay) National Honor Society, Voted by administration, Outstanding Athlete for the Junior Class. From 2000-2001 she was awarded a Water Polo Scholarship to San Jose State University. Her hobbies included; Water Polo, swimming, Snow Skiing, Water Skiing and Surfing. In 1998 She went to Las Vegas for Water polo and Swimming Invitational Competition and in 1991 she went to Hawaii for an Invitational Tournament for Club Water polo. Adriane played on the Junior Olympic team, JAG, she was picked for the Inland Empire Zone Team, participated in CIF swim finals since 1997, Miss San Bernardino Pageant, and Testified at FDA meeting on Iressa in Sept. of 2002. During High School she participated not only in sports but social activities as well as academics. In 1996-1997: Water Polo, Swimming, and Homecoming Court. 1997-1998 Water Polo, Swimming, History Day. 1998-1999 Water Polo, Swimming, Prom Committee, Sobobans, and PTSA Walk-A-Thon. She spent all 4 years of High School in the Athletics program starting in 1996 when she joined the Boys JV Water Polo Team, and Girls Varsity Swimming Team. 1997 was spent as a starter for the Girls Varsity Water Polo and Girls Swimming Team. In 1998 she was Captain of Both the Girls Varsity Water Polo and swim teams. Finishing in 1999/2000 once again as Captain of both Varsity Girls Water Polo and Swimming Team. She was an avid volunteer in the community teaching swim lessons at the YMCA; volunteering at the Senior Center in Riverside. From 1995 to 1998 she mowed lawns at a church in Riverside. Sobobans school volunteer club., and volunteered for the Riverside Art Alliance. She won a scholarship to San Jose State University where she played with the Girls Varsity Water Polo as a freshman and was ranked 5th in the Nation Division 1 for the 2001 season. She is survived by her parents Bruce and Anita Riddle of San Bernardino, CA. Sisters; Angela and Alison Riddle. Her grandparents; Ed & Betty Lou Riddle of San Bernardino and Ben & Mollie Clark of Riverside. Rosary will be held June 12, 2003 at 9:30 am with Mass following, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Rosary Cathedral 265 W. 25th St., San Bernardino. Disposition will be private. In Lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lung Cancer Section. Preston & Simons Mortuary handling arrangements.
