Chris before this guest book ends, I just wanna say a few things. You touched my whole family, my daughters walk with you in the dessert. I watched you play with my son, talk with my wife, laugh with me about the past. You are a part of my Heart that not many ever saw. I keep your Hat and t-shirts close by. The last months we spent by each other were some of the greatest times. We have alot of great times we can only make sense of. You are my best friend and everytime i look at this blue Hawaii sky i feel your presence. People say time heals all, I say time just reminds me of the Best Friend i loved and lost. Time is all i had with you ,the best times of my life were next to you. Bro i miss you and i will always keep you close to my HEART. Till we meet again .. Hen (Heckle @ Jeckle ) Forever.

Just wanted to tell you that you were a part of our family from the day we moved into this neighborhood. So you were like another son. Your life was cut short way to soon but now you are at peace and I know you are watching over all of us. God Bless you. Love, Linda Garca and the Garcia Family

you would tell me not to cry- not to ask why- you would tell me its going to be alright- encourage me to enjoy life- make the best of what you are handed- even when you dont understand it- trust, even when your heart breaks- god doesnt make mistakes- you would tell me to take care of cole- you would make sure i told him if it were up to you, you wouldnt go- but if it be gods will its useless to put up a fight- in death your are given eternal life--

Scott, Mr. and Mrs. Grotness,
I am very sad to hear about Chris.
I am so sorry for your loss. I was a close friend of Scott's in high school and got to know Chris very well. He was so sweet and could always make me laugh. Even though I have not seen Chris in years I often thought about him. I wish I could have known him as an adult, I will continue to think of him and carry his smile and laugh in my heart.

Chris I saw you once when you came to my house to pick up a hose to help Henry fix his car, your smile lightened up the family room. After you left I thought what a kindhearted man and friend to Henry, my brother, God sees a man by his heart and kindness towards helping others. I am praying that God use you in heaven to continue spreading your warm heart and love to others. Cole you have much to be proud of, and in difficult times remember your father is your guardian angel on your shoulder looking over you. God will heal your sorrow and God promises us to be together again and live forever. Lots of love to the family, my family continues to pray for yours, Gabi Dorati (Henrys sister)

Dear Grotness family,
My sympathy goes out to each of you. Chris was my best friend in my early teenage years, godfather to my daughter, one of my first roomates, and stayed in my heart as we grew older, although we grew apart over the past decade. I am so glad to know that the last months of his life were some of his happiest. I tried to keep tabs on him, through Scott, and always wished the best for him. He was a proud father, I remember his joy the day that Cole was born, I know that it must have meant the world to him to be able to spend so much time with him lately. I hadn't seen him in about 6 years, maybe more, but I always had a feeling that we would be able to pick up where we had left off. I'm sorry that never got to happen, I thought that we had more time. He was the most loyal friend that anyone could ever ask for, I will miss him.

Respectfully,
Dennis Cooper

Dear Grotness Family,
To me Chris is a guy who always had a smile , always made you laugh , and even though he was Scotts little brother his loyalty as a friend made him feel like family. No matter how much time passed between seeing him he was always the same guy and you would pick up where you would last leave off which was always a good place. He will be greatly missed. This is so hard to imagine my husband and I won't have the opportunity to run into him again. My families thoughts and prayers are with you all through this difficult time .

Barb, Steve, Cole, Scott & Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I cant imagine the pain you all must be going through. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I can still picture Chris as a young boy when we bowled on a team together in Riverside or when Barb would take us to school in the Porsche on occasion or just riding bikes around the neighborhood. We were all so close growing up. Chris was like another brother to me. I will miss him.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
