I met Dale Holmes at The Riverside Office of Education when he was the Riverside Co. Supt. of Schools. I was the Xerox Service Rep. who serviced the Xerox Equipment on site. I met him one day in the parking lot as he approached his beautiful 1988 Silver Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. I offered to buy it from him whenever he decided to trade it in. He kept my name and # and a year or so later sold it to me for a very fair price. I still own and love the car, and often think of the kind gentleman that Dale was. RIP

In the sixth grade, he taught us about science experiments. Every person in that class remembers him as the best teacher they ever had. We still talk about him today at the age of 72.

Dale was a mentor to me when I started teaching fourth grade at Hoffer Elementary school in Banning CA. We had common interest in backpack camping. He developed a program calledCHARDECON to take disadvantaged middle school students on backpacking trips. It was community service that he truly enjoyed.....for me his mentorship guided me as I became an elementary teacher...And I too remember the silver Porsche speedster that another person had just commented about. I also remember his white Porsche 912 that replaced the speedster. And later the Saab Sonnet sports cars. We last got together at the sports car auction in Palm Springs.... I still miss Dale very much. It´s hard to imagine he has been gone 20 years now.... Paul Bakkom.

Mr. Holmes was my 6th grade teacher in 1963, Lee Elementary Los Alamitos, Ca. To this day, the people in that class remember him as one of the great teachers of his time. He had a silver porsche, and a clean look. To this day, some 55 years later when asked who was your favorite teacher, it always comes back Holmes.

Jeanne and Michelle,
Please accept my sincere sympathy at the passing of such a great person and leader. Having worked with Dr. Holmes at RCOE (beginning in an office right across from his) he was indeed such a great, caring, and dedicated person. He really made me feel comfortable and gave me a lot of advice that I will remember throughout my career. I and others were blessed to have had the opportunity to know such a great man. He will be missed.
Respectfully,
Cindy Mendoza-Collins

Jeanne and family:
I wish to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of such a wonderful man.
Dr. Dale was so admirable, and such a caring person. He gave me hope when I was empty and helped me turn my life around.
He was always there to display concern when my husband passed away. He truly did care about everyone and everything that crossed his path.
He will always be remembered in my heart.
God bless you as you walk through the loss of such a wonderful man.
I am always here for you. Please call (714) 692-3003 anytime.
Love,
Sandi
