Douglas Agee Obituary

DOUGLAS M. AGEE MD Age 85, died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Corona Regional Medical Center. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Beverly (Deutsch) Agee: children Greg, Steve, and Beth; granddaughter Angie; and many close friends. Born in Loma Linda and raised with brothers Neil and Richard on his father's farm in Yucaipa, Doug was the son of Doug Sr. and Grace. Doug practiced medicine and lived in Riverside for nearly 50 years. After graduating from La Sierra College in 1952, Doug was drafted into the Korean War and served his country as a lab technician at the Tokyo Army Hospital for two years. After the war, Doug put himself through medical school and opened his first practice in Lakeland, TX followed by Yucaipa, CA in the early 60's. Doug completed his anesthesia residency in 1965 at Loma Linda University Medical Center and married Beverly Deutsch at the Mission Inn in Riverside. Not too long after settling down and starting his medical career at Parkview Hospital in Riverside, Doug's love of the sea (sailing, snorkeling, swimming, sunning) led he and Beverly to Catalina Island where they decided that it would be a great place to spend summer holidays. Eventually retiring after a robust medical career in the 90's, Doug and Bev RV'd throughout the country. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2PM at the Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary and the burial will take place on Monday, August 31st at 12:30PM at the National Cemetery in Riverside on Van Buren.

Our family has so many great memories of time spent with Doug and Beverly both on the East coast and in California. Your family is dear to us and you are in our thoughts and prayers!

My deepest symphany and prayers for the loss of Douglas. He was a wonderful cousin and cared for his family, always ready to lend a helping hand.My favorite memory was when he was in college at Keene, Texas he would visit our family in Nocona. One Thanksgiving he came and my brother Roger Doug And I visited that morning with his Aunt Minnie. She fixed a huge meal for us and we were stuffed. That afternoon we returned to my home and my mother and Aunt Emma Davis had spent all day cooking. We tried to eat again but just couldn't eat any more so we just kept asking to pass the olives. We did it so often Mom and Aunt Emma couldn't figure out what was wrong with the food.So never a Thanksgiving goes by that I don't think of Doug Jr. What a fun day we had that day. May God comfort you, He will be missed many Reva Barnett Cousin on Aunt Graces side

It was a pleasure meeting Doug, I was introduced to him when he came to visit my husband, a relative of Doug's, Roger Bond. We would sit and visit around the kitchen table where he and Roger would share some of life's experiences and family stories. Doug had a long, successful, happy life, a great man with a talent he shared with everyone when practicing his profession. Rest in peace and thanks for your service.
