Jonathan Hopson Obituary

HOPSON, JONATHAN DAVID Jonathan David Hopson died tragically in a car accident on August 30, 2006. He was 20 years old. Jon was the loving son of Michael Hopson and Patti Hopson of Riverside and the adored brother of Paul Hopson, Katie Hopson, Mary Hopson, and James Hopson of Riverside. Jon attended Jurupa Valley High School where he was a standout football player. A young man with a kind heart and an adventurous spirit, Jon will be remembered by family and numerous friends for his good humor, generosity, and loyalty. Jon was an excellent athlete and loved playing poker with friends. He could light up any room he entered and his enthusiasm and energy will be sadly missed. A memorial service was held for Jon on Monday, September 4, at 4pm, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5250 Central Avenue, Riverside.

I still can't believe I will never see you again...touch you or kiss you! This is the hardest thing I have ever had to live through..I miss you so much!! Life will never be the same without you!! They say time heals all things but I think this is getting harder for me..I know you are in a better place and you feel no pain but I want to hear your voice and feel your hugs...I love you baby and miss you so...MOM

You were/are such a great friend to KJ. You two were always together and enjoyed life tremendously. You truly touched my heart and life thru the years. You are truly truly missed in our family. Hi Jon I just wanted to write to you and tell you that you are missed so much by so many people. Your life must have been so beautiful.I know we weren't close but I just thought i would tell you that i met Leo one night at Nathan's house and he free-styled a song about you and it was absolutely gorgeous. I saw Trisha recently and she is having a rough time. I am sure you can imagine since you probably miss her as well. She writes some beautiful poetry about you. Well you are thought of always and everyone misses you.

Hey you, I just wanted to share a memory that i have of you cuz it is something that everyone says and it is so true! You were such a sweetheart and had the biggest heart that you would give the shirt off your back, well i remember one time years ago, when we just happened to both be going to the mountains with the boyles at the same time, it was the first time i had ever been snowboarding and i did not have snowboarding pants, so i was just gonna wear jeans and you had already been dressed and you saw i was wearing jeans and refused to let me wear jeans so you went and changed your pants and gave me yours to wear! That is how much of an awsome guy you were! You were so young yet so sweet! So it goes to show that it is very true when people say that you would give the shirt off your back, and how much of a big heart you had! You will be missed greatly! Watch over your family they love you so much! You are truly an angel and with them you rest!

Hey I havent really talked to you since I was in 7th grade because you were in my computer class. I wish I had talked to you and your family alot more. Alot of my friends have been affected by losing you, so it's been getting to me too. Everyone misses you. There was a car wash that some friends and family put together for you, too. We had some good times! From our random havasu trips at two in the morning, helping me with my guy problems, snowboarding, to good times partying with you and Trisha and Liz driving around everywhere. It was a good one, the best. You touched so many lives and filled so many hearts. So thanks for all the fun and laughter! You will never be forgotten. It still is so weird to me that you are actually gone... It's funny how I hadn't seen you since olph then like a year ago I randomly saw you at that party and right away you remembered me...I was definitely impressed. Im so glad I got the opportunity to talk to you and catch up and meet you when you when we were older. I wish now that when you called me to hang out after that time, that I would have. You were always such a funny guy and so sweet. You have no idea how much everyone misses you. Your funeral was so beautiful, almost our entire OLPH class showed up and a bunch of people got up and shared stories about you. I told your mom a story that I remembered from 5th grade.... because it was the only time I ever heard Mr. Martis yell haha.....a kid from 3rd grade came in to take a test and all of a sudden he started yelling and we all turned around and there you were shooting spit wads at him hahaha...and then of course you got detention lol....such a jon moment! Well buddy have fun up there and know that you are truly loved and missed!
