Jose Jimenez Obituary

JOSE "JOE" JIMENEZ, a resident of Norco, CA, passed peacefully in the presence of his family on October 17, 2014, at the age of 84. Jose was raised on a family-owned cheese dairy in Chino, where he helped support his mother and siblings following his father's unexpected death in 1942. In 1952 Jose and his family moved to Pomona, where he would later meet his bride of 60 years, Grace Veloz; there they raised their two sons and later moved to Norco in 1976. In his early years he worked as a superintendent at construction sites, later working as a general contractor/business owner specializing in concrete. Jose had a priceless sense of humor and loved life by spending time with family and friends, enjoying music, dancing, riding motorcycles and flying his airplane. Jose is survived by his wife Grace, their two sons and their families; Joseph Wayne and wife Yolanda and their two children, Vanessa and Adrian; Robert Eric and wife Rachel and their three daughters, Brooke, Briana and Bianca, as well as his remaining six siblings, Micaela, Elsie, Grace, Beatrice, Edward and Rita. Memorial Service: Stone Funeral Home, 355 East 9th St., Upland, Ca. 91786 on Wed., Oct..29 at 9:30 am.

I liked to tease/remind Joe that I knew Gracie BEFORE he did !! The "Girls" (Gracie, Ofie & Mary) would go out with my Parents, Rudy & Nellie Gomez, for nights of 'partying' -- dancing & laughter at their favorite dancing night spots, then plenty of late night/early morning laughter & conversations at our home, while enjoying meals my Mom would cook, AFTER getting home from their nightclub outings !! As a little boy, who was just beginnning to learn about celebrities via television, I became fascinated that my Mom was part of this group of beautiful women that would come to MY house to gather. They were models/celebrities in my eyes. Then came Joe, .. with his leather jacket and motorcycle and took one of MY girls away !! What a wonderful union, ... Joe & Gracie. He won Gracie's heart just as he won my love, respect & admiration. He & Gracie flew in their own plane to Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico for my wedding with Jenny. The love, support & mutual love & respect they shared with my parents & family is a legacy of love that will live on. We love you, Joe. God blessed you and He blessed us with You !!

We are good friends with Robert and Rachel. Through the years we have had the pleasure of both Jose and Grace in our lives for special occasions and just to pass the time. Each time was a blessing. We will miss him and know he is in peace, our love to Grace.
With our sincere condolences,
