Judy was the oldest of seventeen grandchildren on her mother's Cary side of the family. I am number five of the seventeen and always looked up to Judy as the beautiful, older cousin. We were a very tight knit family and I remember many, many family get- togethers where all seventeen of us would have so much fun. As teenagers, Judy was the popular one, song leader/cheerleader, homecoming queen and was she uppity? No, she was so sweet regardless of all the popular positives in her life. We went to the same high school and I always liked letting everyone know she was my cousin. Judy's oldest daughter, Michelle, was flower girl in our wedding and of course Judy sewed Michelle's dress which was matching fabric to my wedding dress. Years later when my oldest daughter Becky attended nursing school at Loma Linda University, which was close proximity to where Judy and Michelle lived, they brought Becky a care package of yummy goodies to her dorm room. No surprise, as that was Judy's thoughtfulness. Sadly, life got busy and these last several years were not one were I prioritized keeping in touch with less than immediate family. I feel bad that I allowed that to happen. I am thankful that Judy was so special to me then and continues to be now. I am even more thankful that we will be reunited in heaven, as we both know our savior, Jesus.
