Kenneth Watkins Obituary

KENNETH ARTHUR WATKINS Resident of Menifee, California, passed peacefully into heaven at his home on September 20th, 2011 from a heart attack. Kenneth was 68 years old. Kenneth Arthur Watkins was born in Riverside, California on April 16th, 1943, to parents Irene and James Watkins. Ken joined the Air Force and proudly served his country from 1961 thru 1965. Ken was married to Nancy Watkins for 36 years until Nancy passed to heaven. Together they brought three beautiful children into their world, Tammy, Joy and John, and in time Ken was given the gift of being a grandpa to five beautiful grandchildren. Ken was blessed to find true love twice in his life, marrying his current wife Olga Watkins on March 12th, 2004. Ken spent his final years of life enjoying retirement after a respected commitment of 43 years as an employee of Deutsch, acting as Vice-President. He has ritually spent each day of his retirement since with his wife, best friend and companion "O", completing morning crosswords together, enjoying his online poker challenges, reading intellectual books and watching his various sports games. Ken's hobbies included fishing, hunting, cooking, playing golf and vacationing. Ken was faithful to his religion. He is known by all to be a kind, genuine and generous man, genuinely caring about mankind and being generous with his heart to all he loved. Ken will be deeply missed as he touched and changed the lives of many. Kenneth is survived by and loved in the hearts of his wife Olga, children Joy and John, grandchildren Jeramy, JJ, Bailey, Paige, and Nikolas, his step-children and step-grandchildren, and all other family and friends who were blessed to have known him. A viewing will be held on Monday from 4-8pm at Evans Brown Sun City Chapel. Please join us as we honor Kenneth Arthur Watkins' life on Tuesday, at St. Vincent's Ferrier Catholic Church in Sun City on September 27th at 11:30am, laying his body to rest with a veteran flag ceremony and graveside service at Olivewood Memorial Park in Riverside and concluding with a reception to celebrate his life at the Tierra Shores Country Club. Olga Watkins would like to thank all of their family and friends for their continued support during this tragic loss. I worked with Ken at Deutsch for many years. He was a very spirited and competitive soul, who was always there for anyone no matter what position they had. He will always be in my thoughts.
