Kenneth Welton Obituary

KENNETH JOE WELTON, JR. A Man Amongst Men Kenneth passed away in his sleep on April 27, 2013, in Loma Linda, CA in the home he shared with his loving wife Ebone and step-son Domenic. He was 36 years old. Kenneth was born January 13, 1977 in Bellflower, California to his parents, Lorie and Ken Welton. It was a special day for the family for a number of reasons. Not only was he born on the same day as his father, he was also the first grandchild born into the Polikretis clan. Throughout his childhood, Ken was an inquisitive kid who was always smiling. He enjoyed making you laugh, and he was especially excited when his brother Joshua arrived. They grew up together as loving siblings as well as friends, and Kenneth proved to be a protective and supportive big brother in every way. As the oldest cousin and first grandchild, Kenneth not only provided guidance to all of his cousins - he set an example of how family would be there for them no matter what adversity they faced. He continued being an excellent role model to his stepson Domenic, proving to everyone that his desire to be a great Dad was genuine and loving. His determination and drive to do his best also carried over to his academic and business success. Kenneth attended Murrieta High School, where he was a star player on the football team. After graduating, he did it all over again for the University of Redlands. The fans that watched him play knew that when #67 took the field, he would not only play hard, fair and lead he would dominate you. As a professional, Kenneth became a well-respected businessman who was well liked by both his clients and co-workers. His desk was always covered with positive sayings, and he used this attitude to establish a great reputation for himself, which eventually allowed him to become the Vice President of Sales in the company he recently joined. Yet another example of the type of person Kenneth was is evident in the number of friends that he made throughout his years. He spent a significant amount of time in a tuxedo, where he was asked to stand up in no less then 15 weddings. Above it all, if you asked Kenneth what his greatest success was, he would have told you that he found the love of his life in his wife Ebone. They shared a special bond that was evident to everyone who was lucky enough to be around them. Kenneth was a driving force behind the Wednesday night family dinner, where he would drive hours just to spend time with his Grandma and Papou, Mom and step-dad Mike, Joshua and Sheri and their son Brody, and any family member who could attend. These gatherings were a testament to the love and devotion that a family shares. In honor of his memory, we ask that you join Kenneth's family to gather and celebrate his life on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Ted Runner Stadium at the University of Redlands. Reception immediately to follow at Mill Creek Cattle Company, 1874 Mentone Blvd., Mentone, CA 92359. In lieu of sending flowers, please donate to the Domenic Petro College Fund at any Bank of America. For further information on the fund please contact the Loma Linda Bank of America. It was Kenneth's wish that Dominec have the opportunity to attend college.
