Paul Garcia Obituary
PAUL AMPARAN GARCIA Paul A. Garcia, 81, a resident of Corona, CA, passed away on May 14, 2009. He was born in Los Angeles, California to Exsiquio Ramirez Garcia and Soledad Amparan. He graduated in 1945 from James A. Garfield High School, enlisted in the U.S. Naval Service (NATTC, Memphis, Tenn.) in Mar 1945 until his honorable discharge in Oct 1947 as Aviation Radioman Third Class, USN. He continued his interest in Amateur Radio as a hobby and for as long as anyone remembers his call letters were W6MCM. Paul began his career in 1948 at North American Aviation in Downey which lead him to his position as an Electronics Engineer where he was fortunate to be a part of history-in-the-making, from the Apollo missions, the walk on the moon, to the Space Shuttle program, developing and supporting the flight control system test and operations. After 40 years with the same company (different name) he retired from Rockwell International in Downey, CA. He was an intelligent man with many achievements, including a nomination for Engineer of the Year. Paul and his family lived in Fullerton, CA from 1955 until 1965 when they moved to Norco, CA and then moved to Corona in 1976. He was a good husband and a great father. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Eloise Garcia (Jan. 20, 2009), his daughter Eloise Eleanor Francis and his son David Garcia. He is survived by his son Paul L. Garcia of Corona, his daughter Victoria (Sam) Freeman of Wyoming, his daughter Regina Pia of Corona, his daughter Janine Garcia Zubia of Corona, his son Benjamin Garcia of Los Angeles, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Paul was the last of 14 children, in remembrance of his siblings; Edward Amparan Garcia, Rito Amparan Garcia, Felix Amparan Garcia, Henry Amaparan Garcia, Mary Jacques (2009), Thomas Amparan Garcia, Paul Amparan Garcia, Vera Saucedo, Manuela Bailon, Catalina Holguin, Helen Lockerman, Jovita Garcia and Cruz Garcia. We love you Dad and we will miss you. I will miss you most of all, you and mom, I love you and thank you both for everything, you gave me a good life. A Service will be held at Corpus Christi Parish, 3760 N. McKinley St., Corona CA on Friday May 29, 2009. Viewing will begin at 9:30 am, Mass at 10:30 am and then to Riverside National Cemetery.
