Pauline Stirling

1929 - 2014

PAULINE (PAULA) STIRLING Paula was born in Hays, Kansas on December 30, 1929, the youngest of three children. She grew up on a farm near Ogallah, Kansas. Paula met George Stirling in college at Denver University, and they were married July 2, 1950. While George served in the Air Force Paula, and their daughter, Karen, joined him in Germany. When they returned they settled in Denver, Colorado and had a son, Gary. In September 1956 they moved to Riverside, California where she had twins, Gregory and Jeanette.. She worked for Riverside Unified School District at Jefferson Elementary, Sierra Junior High, and North High School before retiring. She volunteered at Kaiser Hospital for over 20 years. Paula, surrounded by her family, finished her journey here on earth and began her journey with our Lord on November 21, 2014 after a battle with dementia. Preceding her in death were; husband, George Stirling, parents Mr.& Mrs. Francis & Elizabeth Nixon. She is survived by her children: Karen (Gil) Lukkonen of Highland; Gary (Lorrie) Stirling of Riverside; Gregory (Nida) Stirling of Lancaster; and Jeanette (Ryk) Cunningham of Moorpark, siblings Reatha Johnson and Isaac John Nixon. Paula was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She will be missed by her family, close friend Bill Hargus, and other friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, December 6, 2014 at Victoria Presbyterian Church. 6091 Victoria Ave. Riverside, Ca. 92506.
