My condolences to Ray's family. We served together in Vietnam. We shared a foxhole many nights. He was a very brave Marine. Wish we had kept in touch.

Semper fi, Ray! I'm hearing about your death after the fact. I went with you up that steep hill to get med-evaced in Vietnam. You walked all the way with a piece of schrapnel in your heart! You were my team leader when I got to Vietnam and later my squad leader. Randy Gaston, League City, Texas. 3rd Platoon, Alpha Co, 1st/Bn, 7th Marine Reg, 1stMarDiv

Dearest Rachel, Caesar, Michelle, and Shauna, I was so saddened to hear about the passing of Ray. He is one of those people that are unforgettable, that touch your life in a very meaningful way. He was a very unique and genuine individual, to say the least. I still laugh remembering some of his antics. He loved his family, that was obvious, and Rachel. Rachel, my dear friend, how I admire your courage and your strong love for him, from the beginning of your relationship to the very end. I have very fond memories of all of us, young married couples (my sis Martha/Carlos, Me & Caldera, Della/Danny, and Teresa) when we hung out at your house on 11th st., our kids Caesar, little Ray, and Shellie were little ... we had so much fun ... how Ray made us laugh and laugh. You must all be proud of him, he was a great man, a kind man. I know God will give you comfort, and peace knowing that our Ray is with HIM where there is no more sorrow, pain nor tears. He now has a new body and a sound mind. We will see him again. My love and prayers to all of you.

On behalf of my mom Rachel, my brother Caesar and my sister Shauna, we wish to thank everyone for taking the time and sharing their kind words. We also wish to thank everyone that was able to attend his services. I think he would have been touched to see all the support from family friends and co-workers.

I'm very saddened to hear about the passing of Ray. He was my boss and more importantantly my friend. Ray was always available to those he worked with and loved his career in the Department of Corrections, good and bad. We shared similar family history in Tucson, Az. He was such a great storyteller and always was supportive and funny, especially after a union meeting! He loved you Rachel and was so proud of his children. My prayers will be with you and I too will always remember Ray Palacio. God Bless you and your family.

Family & Friends of Ray Palacio, I am very sorry @ your loss & I pray that God will comfort you @ this time of sorrow. I too am saddened, he was a friend of mine. It's too bad those coming back from military service lost contact with our friends. I first knew of Ray a summer I returned from vacation in Vegas. A friend told me there was a new guy in town who looks just like me, in fact guys talked to him thinking he was me. I didn't think we looked a like, but Ray n I were fast friends. He was a good guy, a fun n brave guy.I'm glad he had a family with children, I knew he would have friends, he was friendly n outgoing. Your loss is mine as well, he was one of the good ones. RIP my Brother. John Roybal(Ray knew me as Tinker)

Ray, what a thing to wake up this morning and hear that this earth will no longer hear you words of encouragement and laughter. You were there whenever I needed advise, be it personal or work related. Prayers and condolences to your Wife and family, for they truly have lost an honored man.
