November 1, 1947- January 21, 2018
Stella Santa Noriega was born on All Saints Day of November 1947 to Maria Rayo Duran and Frank M. Noriega in Los Angeles, CA. As the oldest of five siblings she was raised in Compton, CA with her sisters Irene, Ruthie and Frances; and her brother Frank Jr. She was married for 19 years and had two children, Mary Valdemar and Richard Valdemar Jr. who were raised in their family home in Lakewood, CA. Stella was a dedicated mother and was influential in the lives of many catholic youth as an active youth ministry leader in her local parish, St. Pancratius for over 10 years. For many years she was also an advocate for unwed mothers and worked closely with local ministries that supported young women at His Nesting's Place and Mary's Shelter. On Sunday, January 21st, Stella passed peacefully in her sleep in the home of her mother and father in Bellflower, CA. She joins them now in Heaven, and will be missed by her children, two grandchildren, Veronica and Santiago, her sisters and brother, several god children and many family and friends who knew her loving, generous heart. Those of us who shared precious moments with her in life, will cherish her memory as she finds peace with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Burial services will be held on February 6th at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, CA.
