Stephen Goodrich Obituary

STEPHEN THOMAS GOODRICH Was born on November 6, 1950 in Cleveland, Ohio, and passed away on June 21, 2009 at his home in Riverside, California at the age of 58. His mother, Carolyn, passed away in December 1999, and his father, Robert, passed away in November 2002. Steve graduated from Poly High School in 1968. Exercising his many God-given talents, Steve was an accomplished guitarist who excelled in a variety of rock and roll styles. He also had a knack for learning other artists' tunes quickly as well as composing and creating new sounds. He liked to collect guitars, and cameras, too, and after playing with a variety of rock groups during the 70's he focused his energy and his livelihood on photography. Steve was also a crack shot with a handgun, and he enjoyed competing with a .45 automatic or .38 Special in Steel Challenge and Bullseye matches. While Steve may have left this life, he will not be forgotten. If you wish to honor his memory you are encouraged to support your local musicians.

So sad to hear about Steve's passing. He had a great musical talent and was a lovely guy with a good sense of humour. My first jam sessions was with Steve, as a matter of fact his band 'Just Plain Grace' I named after Grace Slick if I recall. And there was that rumour about Glen Ross Campbell's band in England called 'Juicy Lucy'. If you knew Steve back then, you know who and what I'm talking about. I worked with Steve at the Phototorium in the late 80's. He was a tough cookie, but after you got to know him, he was a softie. He was such a talented photographer and marksman and was so smart. I know he loved the guitar, but unfortunately I never heard him play. He will be missed.

Steve and I had so much fun going to concerts at Swing Auditorium in the '60's! We both got a kick out of seeing Three Dog Night and Lee Michaels, and many many more. He was a good friend for many years and I'm sorry that we lost touch. He had a great sense of humor..he was a great guy. Goodbye Steve

All I can say is that a great talent has left us. I have too many memories to post here from the music we played together to just hanging out, going to concerts at the Swing, the many band practices and episodes of Star Trek.
I'll miss you bud!
