ANTHONY PUGGI Obituary

PUGGI, ANTHONY JOSEPH 93 - of Mays Landing, departed this life peacefully on August 27, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born February 11, 1920 in Williamstown, New Jersey, he spent his childhood on the family farm in McKee City, New Jersey. He was an intelligent and successful self-made business man. He started his own excavating business at a very young age known as A.J. Puggi and Sons Excavating. In 1998 he and his wife, Betty, started A.J. Puggi Recycling on Mill road in Egg Harbor Township. Tony or "A.J.", as he was known, operated his heavy equipment just until a couple months before he left us. His trucks were always immaculately kept and recognizable by his signature colors, black, silver, and red. Tony had the heart of a lion and a personality to match. He would tell people what he thought without hesitation, however, his heart was extremely kind and loving, willing to forgive anyone for anything at anytime. He is loved and cherished by his family and will live on in their hearts forever. Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Betty of 47 years; beloved children: daughters Betty Ann Hauck (Dan), and Lucille Carman (Doug); sons Charles Karrer (Stacey), Donald Karrer (Maureen), and Eugene Puggi (Arlene); along with many special and beloved grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Ferdinand and Angelina Puggi; sister Lucille Loverro; brothers Jiacomo "John", and Joseph; and sons Frederick and Joseph. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 724 Maple Avenue, Linwood. A visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of Mass at the church. Entombment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in honor of Anthony Joseph Puggi to the Bryn Mawr Hospital, 130 S. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 for their exceptional care and compassion. Arrangements entrusted to and condolences may be left for his family at: adams-perfect.com
