CARL OUTTEN

OUTTEN, CARL - was born on September 23, 1933, in Manhattan, NY to Edmundo Carmelo Outten & Rachel Emily May. He departed this life on May 21, 2013, in Trenton in the Capital Health Hospital System. Carl was one of three children, Edmundo a/k/a "Sonny Outten", passed away on July 3, 2012. He is survived by his adopted-brother, Raymond Hulan and sister, Verna Douglas. Verna has two children, Derek and Karen Douglas. Carl was a hard-working person all of his life, holding his first job at age nine in a candy store. A graduate of Commerce High School in Manhattan, NY, along with additional education he worked in the pharmaceutical business. Eventually, he attained a position with General Motors for 35 years and he retired as a Supervisor. Sometimes Carl held two jobs at the same time and one of his favorite occupations was preparing taxes for family and friends. He just seem to never stop working which earned him the nickname and title of "Mr. Muscles". Carl leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 56 years of marriage, Sonya Outten, they brought forth two sons, Kevin Outten and Van Carlyle Outten (married to Gema Wheeler), and one daughter, Valerie Outten-McLoud from a prior wife, now deceased; grandchilden, Leslie Outten, Emmanual Outten and Sonya Outten, Trina McLoud, Garren Stephens-McLoud and Edward McLoud, III and also Lisa McLoud-Jones; great-grandchilden, Tyree, Michael, Feliz, Vanessa and Amelia and a host of other relatives and friends. Carl was loved by many friends and family and his life leaves us with beautiful memories. A celebration of life and a memorial service of love will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from Noon to 4:30pm at the Laguna Grill, 1400 Ocean Avenue in Brigantine, NJ.
