CASSANDRA BLACKWELL Obituary
BLACKWELL, CASSANDRA "CASS" - was born May27th 1951 in Hempstead, Long Island, New York. She was the first-born to the late Helena McCallum Blackwell and William Blackwell. She departed her earthly life on June 5, 2013, at Kindred Hospital, in Philadelphia, PA. "Cass", as she was affectionately called attended the Atlantic City Public Schools. She was lasted employed by Claridge Hotel and Casino where she worked in the Security Department. She was preceded in death by her mother Helena McCallum- Blackwell, her father William Blackwell, her brother Brian Bruce and her son, George Speller Jr. Cassandra's greatest pastimes were watching her Philadelphia Eagles play football; doing crossword puzzles and watching her two favorite wrestlers battle it out on WWF. They were John Sena and Shawn Michaels. Cassandra's love did not stop there. Her family was her greatest inspiration in life. Cassandra and Katrina shared a special mother daughter bond that could never be broken. Cassandra leaves to cherish fond memories one loving daughter Katrina Blackwell of Pleasantville, one very special granddaughter Amirah Blackwell of Pleasantville, three sisters Susan Sapp (Lawrence) of Concord, NC, Darlene Blackwell of Millville, and Jerry Lynn Blackwell of Atlantic City. Two brother's Jeffery Blackwell of Galloway, Reverend Dennis Blackwell (Ann) of Clayton. Two Aunts; Amanda McCallum of Manhattan, NY, Elaine Johnson of Mizpah. Seven nephews, one great nephew, one goddaughter Jackie Brooks seven other children: three special cousins, eight special friends: and her special nurse: Bonnie. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Asbury A. M. E. Church Chalfonte and Pacific Avenues, Atlantic City, NJ 08401, at 11:00AM; where family and friends may view from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. Interment: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township, NJ. To the loving family of Cassandra, always know that she is often thought of for she had a heart of gold, always thinking of others and had a phenomenal love for her daughter Katrina. We also shared so many personal things and had fun wherever we went. Everyone knew that Cass which she was frequently called knew she could get the party started. I will always remember you Cassandra for you are unforgettable. Continue to sleep in peace my friend till we meet again.

Ms. Cassandra was the coolest person you could ever meet and she always told you the truth not holding back and I will miss her for that. My condolences to my extended family. Cassandra was a beautiful person, inside and out. She just had a way of making you laugh even when you didnt want to. I'm sadden to hear of her passing but she is now one of god's angels and will continue to watch over Trina & Amirah.
