Catherine Gillingham passed away on July 10, 2025, in Galloway, N.J.
Born August 10, 1940, to John Eustace and Helen Thompson, Catherine later gained a stepfather, Sam, after her father's death. She also had a half-brother, John Eustace Thomson.
She is survived by her four daughters, Stacy Turlish (Tom) of New Gretna, Dianne Perna (Dennis) of Dennis Township, Beth DiCioccio (Richard) of Atlantic City, and Kim Gillingham of Tampa; as well as her many grandchildren, Darlene, Dennis III, Dawnette, Richard III, Rhoda and Nicolas. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren. She also had many pets over the years, including dogs, cats, and fish.
Catherine worked as a school bus driver for many years. She spent much of her life cross-stitching and then later crocheting. She made blankets for her family and for hospitals.
She also took an incredible number of photos. Because of her, the family has decades of memories captured, often with the familiar command: "Everyone get in front of the door."
Catherine was not a warm and fuzzy person. She had a lot of opinions, and she shared every single one, whether you asked or not. She wasn't known for being gentle, but she was consistent; what you saw was exactly what you got. One of her favorite things to say was, "You'll miss me when I'm gone." And now we get to find out if she was right.
A visitation will be held on Monday July 14, 2025, at Adams-Perfect Funeral Homes, Inc. 1650 New Road Northfield, NJ 08225 from 10 to 11 a.m. and a service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Laurel Memorial Park Cemetery.
