CHARLOTTE M. OKONOW

OKONOW, CHARLOTTE M. 80 - With much sadness, Charlotte's family announces her passing at Seashore Gardens Living Center in Galloway. The adoring wife and partner of Richard, who passed in 2008, she is survived by her four children, Sindy and Mathew Finkelson of Linwood & Dale and Marilyn Okonow of Needham, MA. She fervently shared her love with and was dedicated to each one of them. Her four grandchildren are Erica & Jessica Finkelson and Hannah & Ben Okonow; whose every sneeze, move, and accomplishment she knew about, worshipped, and brought her such pride and fulfillment. She will also be missed by her always thoughtful nieces, nephews, and cousins and countless dear friends in both Southern New Jersey and Florida. While she chose nurturing her family as her foremost obligation and joy, along side of Richard, she was continuously involved in her family's businesses, and various community and charity causes, often in leadership positions. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a forever warm, friendly, caring woman with an incisively quick wit, endless smile, and persistently positive demeanor. None of these traits left her even through her darkest, difficult, final days as she succumbed to the effects of Alzheimer's disease. Her family would like to thank, particularly, Martha Plazas, Mary Kelly, Daria Tyurdyo, and Elizabeth King who constantly treated her with tenderness, compassion, and protection enabling her to always maintain her self dignity and "feel like The Queen of Sheba". Her memorial services and interment were private.
