Jim and Patti - I had the pleasure of working with C.J. for the short while he worked at JD's. He was a sweetheart. I then met the two of you at the fundraiser JD's hosted. Your strength and positive attitude touched me, as well as my parents and pastor who were also there. I am sincerely moved by the outpouring of love in all of the entries I just read from your guestbook!!! Although I did not know C.J. very well or for very long, or even the two of you for that matter, I wanted to write a quick note to send my apologies and wishes for comfort in this most difficult time. Let the fact that C.J. is finally pain-free and in Heaven watching over you bring you peace when needed most. Love to you and your family. If you come into JD's for dinner and I am working, please re-introduce yourselves. I would love to give you a big hug!!! - Sincerely, Dana

Chris was a precious gift to Jim & Patti. I know they are so encouraged though by the gift of time, the gift of support, the gift of God's presence day in & day out. After Ricci died, CJ was pretty mad at God for taking his friend. But Chris was able to see over these months not only the God that Ricci accepted 2 weeks before his home-going, but the God that was now there with him. He was surrounded by love daily. In Patti, my cousin, I saw a strength that was by far not of her own power. If I were to give anyone advice it would be that of Dr. Charles Stanley who says "The dark moments of our life will last only so long as is necessary for God to accomplish His purpose in us." I know I saw this happen with Patti. While this won't be easy for anyone who loved Chris. There is comfort and power in KNOWING that Chris is with the Lord, His real home, with his maker. He is whole, complete, happy, and one day, we will see Chris again ONLY if we ourselves have also received Christ to be our Lord & Savior. We will miss you Chris. See you soon.

I never met you but I feel like I know you. I have been watching the progress of CJ and his family as they fought through this cancer. I have heard it said that God is closest to us when we are going through difficult times. I know that you can agree with that. God bless you as you go on without him.

Dear Patti, Jim, and Chris-
Our families were recently brought together for a reason. Our short time spent with all of you has had an incredible impact on all of us. We are so grateful for the time we had with Chris. What an amazing young man who accomplished so much and touched so very many lives, especially the children that raced for Chris through the Tim Kerr Charities event on Labor Day. Chris's life encouraged them to participate and reach out to others in need. All of those touched by his story will be empowered and Chris will live on in their hearts forever. Thank you for welcoming us into your lives. With love and sadness-
Tim, Midge , Kayleigh, Kim, Garret, Wes, and Tanner

Dear O'Neill family,
On behalf of Gilda's Club South Jersey, I would like to express to you my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved son Chris. I had the opportunity to meet him last year at the Gilda's Teen Club at EHT HS & when he attended our teen conference at Stockton last May. He was kind, funny, and open about his experience. He shared things about his cancer that I know helped other teens deal with their own situations- whether it be their own cancer or that of a loved one. We will always remember his contribution to Gilda's Club. Your family is in our thoughts & prayers.

Please lean on others during needy times, talking much about C.J. his personality, his accomplishments, his memories and know that he was loved and surely will be missed by you both. They would spend the night at our house especially during the summers since we lived so close to Ocean City. CJ would always make us laugh and entertain us. To The O'Neill Family:

It will be the little things
that you will remember,
the quiet moments,
the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem
hard right now,
it will be the memories
of these little things
that help to push
away the pain
and bring the smiles
back again.

With Deepest Sympathy

CJ you will be sadly missed!

I had the great pleasure of having Chris in my chemistry class when I substituted for EHT. He is a great person and the world is a much better place for him having been around. I can remember Chris telling a student, who was very sick at the time, that he looked upon him as a hero. Chris, know that many see you as a hero! You are missed already.
