DAVID FABER Obituary

FABER, DAVID NORMAN 87, died at his Loveladies home on Tuesday Oct. 25, 2011. Born in Stroudsburg, PA on Sept. 23, 1924. Norm grew up in Hillside, NJ, served in the US Army through WWII, and earned his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering at NCE. He received many accolades for his design and management skills through out his distinguished career of 30 years at Lockheed Electronics Co. During those years, he and his family of 6, lived comfortably in Berkeley Heights. Upon his retirement in 1986, he was able to enjoy 25 more years fishing, golfing, playing bridge, traveling and contributing his time and abilities to many charitable organizations. Among those were The Alliance for a Living Ocean, The Loveladies Harbor Assoc., The Kiwanis Club of LBI. He became President of The LBI Taxpayer's Assoc., was awarded a position in the American Contract Bridge Association, and in 1987, Norm happily, received The Skillful Angler Award for landing a prized Winter Flounder. He was also a member of The Beach Haven Yacht Club and the Do Nothing Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Catherine, on June 25, 2002. He is survived by his four children, Kathleen, Joann, Patty, and Steve. His Grandchildren, Caryn, Mike, Amy, Kristen, Scott, Ashley, Corey, and Jamie. Recently he was blessed with two Great Grandchildren , Gia and Ava. Gatherings of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1st, from 1-3 and 6-8pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 573 Mill Creek Rd., Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Military Honors will be held on Wednesday Nov. 2nd, at 11:00am at The New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 350 Provinceline Rd., Arneytown, NJ 08562. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his name to The National Wildlife Federation: www.nwf.org or Disabled American Veterans: www.dav.org
