Dawn Scull Obituary
Born in Somers Point, N.J. on September 29, 1965 Dawn grew up with her sister and parents in Egg Harbor Township.
She was a dedicated Upper Township Board of Education employee for 35 years.
Dawn was a beautiful soul and free spirit and a lover of nature. Her happiest moments were when she was walking on the beach and being outdoors. She loved all of God's creatures, big and small. She also loved anything lunar. During a full moon, she would often be outside reciting a money prayer passed down by her mother while holding an open purse. It was believed that good fortune would come your way by doing so.
Another pastime Dawn regularly enjoyed was going to rock concerts with her sister and nieces. They would often dress the part of whichever artist they saw that evening. People would stop and compliment them and even ask for pictures.
She was a powerful and determined woman who never let her illness define her. Even when the cancer overtook her body, she always looked beautiful. Now she is a beautiful angel who will always watch over us.
She is survived by her only son Adam Shough; her sister and best friend, Tammie (Ken) Vitullo; her Grandson, Ashton Shough; Granddaughter, Leighonna Shough; her cherished kitty Shadow; her very best friend, John Kohler; Nieces Ashley Vitullo and Priscilla Cantona (Alvin); Nephew Ken Vitullo Jr. (Amanda); Great Niece LillyAnna Vitullo; Great Nephew Ken Vitullo III; Her four Great Nieces with who she shared a special bond with Khloe, Scarlett, Cecilia, and Mahalina Dawn Cantona.
Dawn was preceded in death by her mother Marian Camp, and her father Edward Giberson.
Godfrey Funeral Home will provide a graveside service Friday, June 2nd at 11 a.m. at Seaside Cemetery 559 S. Route 9 Marmora, NJ 08223. Anyone who wishes to share a sweet memory or funny story is welcome to. Dawn had a collection of hats that she loved wearing, and she would encourage anyone attending her service to wear their favorite hat.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to various cancer organizations to find a cure for this terrible disease.

To Adam and the rest of Dawn's family , i want to let you know how sorry I am to hear od Dawn's passing. I worked with Dawn at Upper Township school District years ago. I used to see her stopping at WaWa for coffee or a snack. We talked often about family, work, and life's Challenges, especially after she got the news of her Cancer.
She was a fighter and would not let herself feel sorry for her situation. She said she had many good days with some not so good. The whole time she was sick, always found words of kindness and good wishes.
A hard working, kind, tough cookie that would do anything for anyone. A rare collection of good traits that will be missed. To Adam , and family, I will pray for you during this difficult time...
