Debra Rosenberg Obituary

Rosenberg, Debra, - born in Atlantic City and a lifelong resident of Margate, passed away on October 13th at the age of 89. A vivacious and athletic woman who approached each endeavor with passion and grit, Debra impacted many people in her long life. With her husband, Harry, Debra raised a family of four children. In her younger years, Debra was dedicated to charitable work such as serving as a "Pink Lady" at the AC Hospital and as president of the Women's League of the Jewish Community Center. Debra instructed tennis at the Ventnor Evening School and established the first girl's tennis team at ACHS, where she served as honorary coach for four years. Debra and her daughter, Shelly, operated Shelly's Showroom in Ventnor for 25 years. Debra never slowed down after retirement, but continued to have an active role in the lives of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Never to be told she couldn't, Debra climbed ladders to trim her trees and hedges, fought against injustice with pen and in court, and devoted herself to maintaining her aggravating, but much-loved, swimming pool. Debra welcomed everyone to her home which was the center of her extended family's life. Debra is survived by daughter Shelly DeLuca (Mario); sons Eric (Robin) and David; grandchildren Michael, Marissa (Ryan), Reed (Kristen), Maxx, Zoe, and Zak (Bailey); four great-grandsons; daughter-in-law Patti; sister Joyce (Cookie); and many nephews and nieces. Debra was preceded in death by her husband Harry, son Marc, and brother Roy Baylinson. As Debra would say...CIAO! Donations can be made in Debra's memory to the Saul Sinderbrand, Harry and Marc Rosenberg Religious School Fund at Beth Israel of Northfield. Arrangements by the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, Linwood - Ventnor. Condolences may be extended to the family at ghwimberg.com

Terry and I were saddened to hear of your mother´s passing. My parents loved yours. Aunt Deb, as I called here until my thirty´s and our daughter still refers to Debbie as Aunt. We spent numerous times with your family. Shelly, Eric and David, I see your mom in her heavenly home with Mark and Harry and other relatives. I know she is enjoying being with friends, too . Who knows there may be a pool for her that doesn´t need work and bushes that don´t need trimming. Know that she will be missed. I loved her and the love was returned.

Debra Rosenberg was an amazing person and I have many happy memories of visiting their Margate home, which was always full of good friends and happy times. Shelley was a classmate of mine at ACHS and one of the nicest and prettiest girls I ever knew. I played football with her brother Marc and we crossed paths later in life in business. Always a great athlete and a true gentleman and lost way too soon! Rest in peace Debra and Marc-the world was a far better place because of you!

I played on that first girl's tennis team at ACHS..Playing tennis with you was a privilege in my youth, almost gave you a run for your money. You are a class act, never to be forgotten...
