Elmer, Elmer, Elmer,

The years have taken us down separate paths, you stayed and I left. Over the years we have stayed close and everytime we spoke or visited it was as though no time had passed at all. I miss you already. I may have another 15 years or so here. I know that when next we meet it will be, again, as though no time has passed. Love ya brother!

Gerri-

When the Fisherman caught his Mermaid, a classic love story began. I know how much you and Elmer loved each other. I know your heart is broken in a million pieces right now. I hope you can find a way to begin to heal. Although I know your heart will never be whole again, I hope you can find solace in those that love you. Elmer was a great man whose jokes and asides always put a smile on my face. While I may not have known him as long as other people, I found a kindred spirit in him and will miss him dearly. I love you, my friend!

I was fortunate to get to know Elmer through Gerri about 9 years ago. We have enjoyed many social events together over the years. The one thing that always hit home was his love for Gerri and her love for him, and how great they were together. They were each others soul mates. I am deeply sorry for her loss and his daughters. I have never met a kinder soul, a gentle giant. Elmer would give you the shirt off his back and not think twice about it. He will be greatly missed by all who were as fortunate as I to have known him. Just remember "Only the good die young" I love you Gerri and I am so sorry for all the saddness in your life over the last three months. I only hope that you can move forward in the new year with the memory of Elmer in your heart to keep you going.
