Evelyn "Meme" Wade

1930 - 2021

Wade, Evelyn 'Meme', - 90, of Galloway and Rehoboth, DE, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Meadowview Nursing Home, Northfield, after a long stay. Born the daughter of the late Rev. John R. Weber and Anna 'Seeger' Weber in Garden City, Kansas. She was pre-deceased by her brother, Jack and sister, Shirley. She was the loving wife of her late husband, Benjamin Wade, who was the love of her life. She leaves behind her children, Wendy Stubb (Wade) and her husband Louis, sons, David and his wife Ali and Glenn Wade; her sister, Harriet Basley of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren, Louis 'Skip', Elisabeth, John, Ben, Mike, Morgan, Alex, Christopher, Bethany, Katie, Anna, and Alicia; she is also survived by her 10 great-grandchildren. Her life was filled with the love of Christ her Savior and she had a servant's heart. She loved the Lord and volunteered in every church and community that she lived in. She was involved in The Ocean Grove Historical Society, VFW Auxiliary, St. Paul's Church and The Lutheran Church of our Savior, Rehoboth Beach DE. Mom was an excellent cook, gardener, mentor and Sunday school teacher. There was never a child that she didn't love and there are so many that she held in her heart. Mom was also a prayer warrior until the end. There always had time to pray and be thankful. Burial will be Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union NJ at 12:00PM. There will be a memorial service conducted at a later date at the United Methodist Church at Absecon.
