Someone sent me the announcement of Frankie's passing and I was shocked. I grew up in Bridgeton and went to school with Frankie. I always felt his genuineness and considered him a friend. A few days ago, at the Class Reunion of 1968, discussions about Frankie's passing were in all pockets of the room, throughout the entire night. Even though I have not seen him in a long time, his death penetrated my heart nonetheless! He was a great guy!!

Mrs Solomon & Celia
I offer my sincere condolences to you both.
Frank was not only my fraternity brother in college but has been a great long distance friend for over the past 38 years. We had get togethers in California, New Jersey and other places , and as I kept moving from Pennsylvania to California to Florida & now Texas we always kept in touch. He was the best man at my wedding in Palos Verdes,CA in 1980 and Linda my bride of 28 years, and I will miss him.
I will always have fond memories of my college escapades with him as well as my 1st trip to your home in Bridgeton when I met "Mr & Mrs Solomon" ( & Celia !)
Wishing you both my sincere condolences

Mrs. Solomon and Celia,
Maybe you don't remember me but I was a kid on Church Street who used to play in your yard with Frankie, and later was proud to call him my friend. Everyone said that Pete Solomon was irreplacable at the men's store and in some ways maybe they were right. But Frankie filled those large shoes very well. He was always a gentleman and treated everyone with respect. You could go to the store anytime and shoot the breeze with Frankie and never feel pressured to buy anything. I never met anyone who did not like and respect him and I was saddened to hear of his passing. Every kid in our old, great neighborhood liked to play at "the Solomon's" and anytime I take my own kids by there, I point out "the house where Frankie lived." I regret that I did not see him more as we got older, but I never will forget him and the fine human being he was. That guy was smart too! I know his family loved him as we all did.

Celia and Josephine...I am saddened to learn of Frank's passing...my and my family's deepest condolences go out to you both and to all of Frank's extended family...I got to know Frank for the first time one good, gone year spring and summer, when he and I were teammates representing his Father's business on the local Little League diamonds...not only did I get to buy my first jockstrap for this activity (from the "Men's Store" of course, a full three year's before most friends would need them for 7th grade gym class), but our team made the playoffs, our Father's knew each other, and we became friendly during that period...you graciously entertained me at your home on several occasions and I recall going to the Laurel with Frank for early Friday night shows while he waited for his Father to close up the store and I for my Mother to finish work at a downtown dress shop...watched Around The World In Eighty Days in first release with him. ..wonderful times and memories...he will be missed by his friends, especially at the yearly Rose Christmas Eve Production where we last reminisced about our formative years...Peace and Love, Gary Peacock

Like many i am saddened of (f)rank's passing. As i lifelong friend and neighbor i have many fond memories of growing up with frank and will always remember the sight of him and his famous red shirt.and the special song of long john baldry. The days of east ave/elmer street may be gone as is pete's men's store but the memories will always be cherished and live on.
