Grace Ann Gorman
January 20, 1945 - November 12, 2025
Grace Ann Gorman - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Grace Ann Gorman on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at her home in West Cape May, NJ surrounded by family. She was 80 years old. Born Grace Ann Donato in Brooklyn, New York on January 20, 1945 to John Donato and Josephine Alessandro Donato, Grace grew up in Somerset, NJ. She graduated from Franklin High School and attended Rider University. She was especially close to her parents and often talked of the times spent with her many cousins at their grandparents' farm, and summers at Unity House in the Poconos. Since 1975, Grace has been a resident of Lower Township, where she lived for over 40 years and raised her family, before moving to West Cape May in 2017. Over the course of her life, Grace played many roles including real estate agent and as a reservationist at 410 Bank Street. She was most proud of obtaining her nursing degree and working as an LPN in geriatrics. Above all, Grace was committed to her family. Grace was first and foremost a traditional stay-at-home mom of the old school variety. Packing lunches, making breakfast for her kids before school, welcoming them home with warm brownies after school, and shuttling them back and forth between sports practice and dancing lessons, Grace put her heart and soul into raising her family, and providing the best home she could. The granddaughter of Sicilian immigrants, Grace's meatballs were legendary. An only child, Grace also took excellent care of her parents, who were never more than a 5-minutes' drive away, and who were always an important part of the family, the frequent host of Sunday family dinners, and just generally very involved in their grandchildren's upbringing. Grace is survived by her three children and their spouses: Megan Gorman and her husband Roger Nabedian, Bruce Gorman, Jr. and his wife Ketevan Kulidzhanova, and Brett Gorman and his wife Dr. Erika Lindholm. She was the beloved Oona to her two grandchildren Elliot and Elin. She is also survived by her long-time companion David DiProsperis and of course, her puppy Pandora. Grace will always be loved and missed, and cherished for all of the love she gave her family and friends and brought into this world. The family would also like to thank all the nurses and caregivers who took care of Grace during her final illness.
Grace's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 20th at 1:30 p.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. Interment will follow Mass in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cape May.
