HARRY GRAU Obituary

GRAU, HARRY ROBERT 90 - of Seaville passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Alice, sister Ruth Grau, daughters Jane and her husband Frank Douglas, Leigh and her husband Michael Raposo, son Robert and his wife Debora, and granddaughters Amanda and Danielle. A service celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 12 noon at the Godfrey Funeral Home, 644 S Shore Road, Palermo, NJ. Expressions of sympathy can be made by contributing to Homes for Our Troops (assisting severely injured veterans ph: 508-823-3300) or St. Jude's Children Hospital. Harry was born in Newark. He graduated from Union High School. During WW II he served in the Navy SeaBees on the island of Tinian. After the war, he attended Seton Hall, and starting with Harry's Bottle Shop in Union, he owned successful businesses in Hazlet, Middletown, Howell Township, Holmdel, and Warren County. He loved life, family, people, travel, sports, gardening and was a faithful fan of the Cleveland Indians. He was a friend for life and delighted in making people laugh.
