Horace Godown Obituary

GODOWN, HORACE M., 81 - of Dividing Creek, died Monday evening at the Regional Medical Center in Vineland after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Cedarville, he was the son of the late Raymond and Marion Godown and the husband of Emma Hackney Godown. Horace had resided in Dividing Creek the past 56 years. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He worked for over 40 years as a sand truck diver for Wheaton Glass in Millville retiring in 1997. He was a life member of the Dividing Creek Fire Co. Horace enjoyed gardening, camping, clamming and reading. He is survived by his wife Emma, son Horace and his wife Josephine of Dividing Creek, sister Harriet Nardi of Millville, and a granddaughter Josephine. He is predeceased by a son Douglas, brothers, Walt & Raymond and sister Phyllis. Funeral services will be held at the Hoffman Funeral Home, 2507 High St., Port Norris on Saturday Dec. 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Dividing Creek Baptist Cemetery. Viewings will be held Friday Nov. 30 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday Dec. 1 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to South Jersey Healthcare Hospice Care P.O. Box 160 Bridgeton, NJ 08302.

I am praying for you at this dificult time. My husband (now deceased) and I knew Horace from about 1948, going to Circle "D"
Fairton and dancing. Praying the Lord's grace is sufficient as I know it is.
