Howard Keith Buchanan

Buchanan, Howard Keith, - 63, of Mays Landing, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 surrounded by his family. Howard suffered for many years of severe long term health issues that deemed him disabled in 2009. Though disabled he still spent those years driving his family on vacations up & down the east coast where so many memories were made. Born February 22, 1960 in Atlantic City, Howard lived in Atlantic County his whole life. He attended Pleasantville school system. Howard spent 25 years working at Shore Medical Center in the emergency room and then the surgical department as a Tech/orderly. He also worked occasionally with the Atlantic County Medical Examiner for a few years. Howard was a member of the Mays Landing Volunteer Fire Dept from 1999-2008 and served in the United States Army from 1980-1986 as a marksman. Howard married in 1999 to Stephanie (Niewender) and they started an adventure. Together they built Baker Stables LLC in Mays Landing where they raised their family. Stephanie's parents (John & Joan Niewender) helped tremendously on many aspects of this endeavor over the years. Survivors include his wife Stephanie their two children Devon (18) and Hunter (15) and his oldest son Ryan (34) and wife Erica of Daytona Beach, FL. Also surviving are his sister Marianne of Texas, John (Natalie) Buchanan of Little Egg Harbor and Kelly Buchanan from Atlantic City. Howard is preceded in death by his father James Buchanan, mother Theresa Buchanan, brothers Jimmy and Andrew Buchanan. Memorial contributions may be given to Atlantic County Humane Society website-www.humanesocietyac.org. A viewing will be held on Monday, January 8, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by an 11:30 a.m. service, at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Road, Linwood. Burial will be private.
