JACK R. WRIGHT

WRIGHT, JACK R. 82 - of Barnegat, beloved husband of Doris for 57 years, passed on August 21, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. Besides his loving wife Doris, he is survived by his son, Jack and wife Sara of Deran; his daughter, Christine Black, husband Dennis and their son David of Browns Mills. He was predeceased by his sons, Thomas of West Creek, Christopher of Marsielle France; a brother, Reginald of Canada; grandson, Dennis of Medford. Jack also leaves six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many friends and family. He will be especially missed by his favorite sister in law, Marian Gould of Little Egg Harbor. Jack was born in Canada and came to the US as a young boy with his parents Nell and Roy Simnis. Jack was adopted by his Stepfather George Wright when he was still a youngster. Later Jack served in the Navy and was present at the Atomic bomb blasts on Bikini island. He worked most of his life in the burgler alarm business in north Jersey and Atlantic City. After moving to the Barnegat area 33 years ago he worked for the Little Egg Harbor sanitation dept. prior to his retirement. He loved all sports especially the New York Giants, baseball and ice hockey. But most of all loved spending time with his family and friends. Ceremony will be private. In lieu of flowers the family would very much appreciate donations to Meridian Hospice of Southern Ocean County Hospital whose care and understanding was greatly appreciated by Jack and his family.
