James Chappell Obituary

Chappell, James O., III, - 83, of Pleasantville, passed away peacefully in his home in Pleasantville, NJ on September 19, 2022. "Jimmy" as he was affectionately known, was born in Halifax County, VA on October 15, 1938 to mother, Onkie Lee Harrison and father, James O. Chappell Jr. In 2000, Jimmy retired as a bus driver from New Jersey Transit and loved fishing and playing pool. He was predeceased by his son James O. Chappell IV and survived by his loving companion and fiancé, Minnie L. Jamison, the children he loved and called his own: Kevin, Karen, Kim, Rosalind and Elliot, a host of grandchildren- who knew him as Pop-Pop, nieces, nephews, and his loyal pet Chloe. A viewing will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church of Atlantic City, 704 Lexington Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ, from 10:00 am to 11:45 am with a service beginning at 12:00 pm, to be officiated by Reverend Dr. John Howard.
