James Dellaquila Obituary
DELLAQUILA, JAMES JOSEPH, 87 - of Ridge, MD, formerly of Vineland, died April 5, 2006 at Calvert Memorial Hospital in Prince Fredrick, MD. Known as "Jimmy" to his family and friends, he was born March 22, 1919 in Camden. He was the son of the late John Dellaquila and Mary Diprimio Dellaquila Reale. He was the second oldest of four children. He was a graduate of Vineland High School. He served in the U. S. Army in the 44th Infantry Division during World War II and was honorably discharged. For over 36 years he was a Glass Blower at Owens Illinois, Kimble Glass in Vineland and a member of the AFGWU Local 135 in which he served for a time as union President. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Vineland and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ridge, MD. He was also a member of the American Legion, Post 255 in Ridge, MD. His wife was Bernice Benoit Dellaquila. They shared 48 years of happy marriage together and had three children. Fishing was his life long love and hobby which he shared with many dear friends and family. He was a founding member of the Highland Anglers Fishing Club in Vineland. He is survived by his son, Michael Dellaquila and his wife Wendy, of Oaklyn; his daughter Michele Dellaquila Yeatman and her husband, Todd, of Ridge, MD, and his brother, John Dellaquila of NJ. He has seven grandchildren, Dena and Jacqueline Dellaquila of Oaklyn, Todd and Chad Yeatman, of Ridge, MD, Korin Dellaquila of NJ, Peter Dellaquila of FL and Melanie Dellaquila of SC. He has three great grandchildren and his Aunt Rose Caleraso of Vineland. He also has many loving sister and brothers in law in KS, CO and MO. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, his son, John Dellaquila, and two brothers, Andrew and Anthony Dellaquila. Memorial contributions may be made to Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad, Ridge, MD 20680; St. Francis of Assisi Church, 23 West Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360; St. Michael's Church, Ridge, MD 20680. A Church visitation will be held from 11 to 12 noon, Friday, April 7, 2006, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 12 noon in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 23 West Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Avenue, Vineland.
