Jenny "Jackie" Cognata July 14, 1946- September 27, 2025, It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jenny "Jackie" Cognata, age 79, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Jenny passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Jenny was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She later moved to New Jersey, where she met her soulmate, Robert Puglise, the love of her life. Together for 49 years, they shared a lifetime of memories. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended Puglise family. She had a passion for cooking and was a sewing enthusiast. You could always find her on the dance floor or singing to her favorite Barry Manilow songs. Jenny (Mom) will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed. She will always be remembered for her strength, her beauty, and the joy she brought to everyone blessed to know her. Jenny is survived by her four children, Eddie Hoffman, Jackie (Ballard) Johnson, Larry (Michelle) Hoffman, Michelle (Brian) James and her many grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Albert Cognata, and her brother, Joey Cognata.
A service to honor Jenny will be held for friends and family on Sunday October 5th, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. with a service to begin at 2:30 p.m. at the Wimberg Funeral Home- 400 Liverpool Ave., Egg Harbor City NJ 08215. For directions and condolences, please visit Wimbergfuneralhome.com.
