BROWN, JESSICA ELIZABETH KATHERINE (nee Braithwaite) 90 - of Atlantic City, departed this life January 19, 2006. Born in Atlantic City, she was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Brown was a faithful member of Jethro Memorial Presbyterian Church in Atlantic City for over 50 years, serving as a member of the Women's Organization, an Usher, a Deacon, and a member of the Senior Choir. The third oldest of five children born to Chester and Ornesta (Moore) Braithwaite, she was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Chester R., her sister Winifred Browne, and her younger sister, Nathalie Braithwaite. Married to the late David Harry Brown, they were the parents of one daughter, Jessica Ornesta Brown. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted and loving daughter, Jessica Ornesta Brown; her only remaining sibling, Hilton Braithwaite, Sr; a devoted nephew who was like a son to her, Ronald Braithwaite; her niece and goddaughter, Hazel W. Coles, all of Atlantic City; her nephews, Errol Browne of Elyria, OH, Hilton Braithwaite of Egg Harbor Township, Scott Braithwaite of Smithville, and Gary Braithwaite of Atlantic City; her devoted cousin, Frances Rita Hicks of Mays Landing, a niece Darlene Saxon of GA, and a nephew Chester Radcliff Braithwaite; and a host of nieces, nephews, many friends and her church family. Services will be held 11a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006, in Jethro Memorial Presbyterian Church, 423 N. Ohio Avenue, Atlantic City, where friends may call from 9a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Pleasantville. Arrangements entrusted to Greenidge Funeral Home.
