JOSEPH DOONAN Obituary

DOONAN, JOSEPH MICHAEL 68 - of Rio Grande, passed away on Sunday February 24, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, PA October 10, 1944. He has been a resident of Cape May County for 66 years. After graduation in 1962 from Wildwood Catholic High School, Joe served his country in the United State Air Force. After returning from over seas he started his career as a meat cutter at the local Shop Rite, which became his life long career eventually becoming the meat department manager and retiring from Super Fresh Market. He was predeceased by his son Jim Doonan, his sisters Alice Dougherty and Ann Doonan, his brother Jim Doonan and his parents Jim and Rita Doonan. Survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Doonan, Daughter Jennifer Myers and her husband Greg Myers of Turin NY, Son Joe Doonan of Cape May. Step daughter Darlene Leonard from Atlantic County and Step Sons Dwayne and Daryl from Cape May County. He was a loving Pop Pop to 12 grandchildren and many. Joe was one of seven siblings, survived by his sisters: Rita Taylor( Bob) of North Wildwood, Donna Doonan of Ft. Lauderdale, Brother Tom Doonan (Diane) of North Wildwood as well as many nieces and nephews. Mass of Joseph M. Doonan will be celebrated 11am Thursday February 28, 2013, at the Notre Dame de la Mer Parish at Assumption on 7100 Seaview Ave. Wildwood Crest, NJ. Friends may call from 10 am in the church. I was very saddened to read of Joe's passing. Please accept my sincere sympathy & condolences in your time of sorrow. Joe & I go way back. May God Bless You & may you Rest In Peace old friend. You will be dearly missed by all of those that knew you.
