Ms High was my teacher and very sweet and nice. She took me somewhat under her wing I guess she thought I had potential. I now live in Williamsburg, V. and I have been an Accountant since 1970 and I also went to nursing school. .So evidently she did something with me. Ms. High RIP

We send thoughts and prayers on the passing of our friend Dr High. We were close colleagues at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey for many years. We were also travel buddies to Mexico.
Dr High was a trail blazer and inspiration to students and associates in her work with The EOF Program and as an Affirmative Action Officer. She led the education program for Atlantic City Tomorrow.
Her contributions on behalf of youth are countless.
May she go home to be with the Lord on eagles wings.

My deepest condolences to that families of Dr Juanita High. When I knew Dr High, she was an English teacher at Atlantic City High School, in Atlantic City, NJ (across from Josh´s Sub Shop), from September `62-May `63. I was considered a "PG" because I had already graduated from a different high school. I was there taking some higher math and science courses and a few electives to maintain full-time status. English was one of those. Dr High vivacious as ever, was a terrific teacher and person. One of her responsibilities was to be a proctor/referee during the lunch periods in the auditorium. In those days, you weren´t allowed outside during school hours. Usually they didn´t want anyone to talk, especially downstairs in the main hall, but, the balcony was a different story. Dr High would come over and sit with us and have some terrific banter. ers for her and the families too!!

Dr. High, My Sister in love, Jeronia McClish was my travel buddy. Whenever we were at a lay meeting and you were speaking, we listened. You always spoke with great wisdom and knowledge. I grew to love you because of your tender mercy and love of the Lord. I grew to love the Lay organization because of your great teachings of the doctrine and discipline. You made sure we know the great history of African Methodism. You always talked about those that came before us. This let me know that you recognized our past and made sure everyone knew where they came from so we could have a loving future. May your legacy live on. Yes, never forget where you came from. Never forget where God wants you to go. Love you and I surely will miss you and of course my Sista, Jeronia. Kitty Combs Smith

My path crossed with Dr. High as a member of the New Jersey Conference Lay Organization, and learned she was an educator and a trailblazer in building bridges for the youth of the next generation. I remember meeting her in 2005 at a fundraiser we both were a part of at Sight & Sound in Pennsylvania, PA, she joyfully let me know how happy and excited she was regarding the appointment of Rev. James Coaxum to St. James AMEC, and the great expectations going forward for her church. Dr. High will truly be missed by many, but surely by the New Jersey Conference Lay Organization members. Sorrowfully submitted, Sister Arlene L. Sumner, Lay Organization President of Heard AMEC Roselle, NJ, 2nd VP N.B. District Lay Organization
