Karl R. Clouting Sr., 98, of Tuckahoe, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Monday, December 23rd 2024. He was born June 3rd, 1926 in Philadelphia to Howard and Marion Clouting. He grew up in Beesley Point and graduated from Ocean City High School in 1944. After graduation, Karl joined the Navy and was sent to serve in the Pacific during World War 2. After being honorably discharged from active naval service in 1946, he joined the Navy Reserve and used his GI Bill to attend Temple University from 1946 to 1948. In 1952 he was called back into active service for the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953, rejoining the Navy Reserve. In 1954 he and his wife, Marian, were married and lived in Swainton, NJ until 1958 when they moved to Northfield, NJ. Karl worked for NAFEC as a Equipment Specialist while running his own business as an Electrician. He enjoyed being around people and had many friends. He enjoyed music and played the accordian and organ, playing the accordian with the Ventor String Band in the Mummer's parade in Philadelphia. He was also a member of the American Legion post in Northfield, proud and honored to have served his country in the Navy. He loved to share stories of his experiences and found humor in many things. He led a full, happy, and lucky life and will be missed by so many.

Karl is survived by his children, Karl Jr. (Denise) Clouting, Robert (Tiffany) Clouting and Kathleen (Alan) Kuoppala; sister Suzanne Ludlam; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Karl was my brother and I am truly sorry I was unable to attend the funeral but the weather was the factor. I will certainly miss him.

As a lifelong friend of my parents, "Uncle" Karl was my namesake. We remained in touch for a number of years after my folks passed.
Unfortunately, Covid will prevent me from attending his services.

He was a good friend of my dad's. They were co-workers at Trop. I met him a couple times at my dad's house. He was a good man and will be missed.
