Karl Mattle Obituary

Mattle, Karl "Jack", - 78, of Mays Landing, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on October 28, 2021. Jack was born December 25, 1942 in Mays Landing to the late Karl and Kathleen Mattle. As a young man, he worked at Wheaton's as a machinist. In 1970 he started his own business as owner/operator of Jack's Excavating and Paving. He would joke that over the years he had paved half of Mays Landing. His business was a success due to his hard work and ethics. He would help anyone who needed a hand. Jack could fix anything and was known as a mechanical genius. Jack had a passion for antique cars and his 1932 Chevy was his pride and joy which he spent many years building and remodeling it. He is predeceased by his soulmate and mother of his children, Bertha (Heintz) Mattle, and his brother Michael Mattle. Jack leaves behind his four children, Brian, Melanie Cradock (Marshall), Scott, and Heather, 8 grandchildren; Spencer, Carson, Derek, Scott, Cody, Madisen, Sean, and Evan, and his great-granddaughter Eliyana Cradock. He is also survived by his long time companion Sharon Ireland, his three loving sisters; Kathleen, Patricia, and Jeannie, his mother-in-law Hannah Heintz, sisters-in-law Freda and Bonnie, many nephews and nieces who will always remember "Uncle Jack". Jack has touched so many lives that words cannot do him justice. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 4th from 5-8PM, at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital or a charity of your choice. Info & condolences to: www.boakesfuneralhome.com

Scott, Brian, Melanie, Heather, Family, and Friends. I am so sorry to hear of Jack´s passing. Your dad was only one house away from welding my bicycle frame or fixing something for us kids growing up almost every day. I remember his Chevy being a rust bucket and him always telling us to stay out of the garage. I´m hundreds of miles and many states away from making an appearance but did want to send my condolences! It was an honor to have been a part of the Mattle Family. Take Care!

Dear Brian, Melanie, Scott & Heather, my heart is aching over the loss of Uncle Jack. We always have "favorite" people in our lives, and Uncle Jack was surely one of mine. His bellowing voice & laughter in contrast to his gentle nature and kindness made him such a unique man. I was always proud to tell people that he was my uncle. His sisters (rightfully) idolized him, and his presence has been such a blessing for our mother, especially during this time in her life. She´s still smiling and remembering (a sad rarity these days) his most recent visit with her. He was a light in the hearts of all who knew & loved him. It is comforting to know that he is now reunited with our loved ones in Heaven, especially Aunt Bert. Our loss is their gain. Please know that my heart, prayers & love are with you, my dear cousins.
