LILA ROSE BURROWS

BURROWS, LILA ROSE (nee CUTAR), age 72 - of Surf City passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin. Lila was born in Montclair, NJ and had lived and raised her family in Surf City with her husband David since 1971. She joined the Claridge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City at its inception and remained there for the next 25 years. Lila devoted many years to the Surf City Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 Station No. 49 and the Surf City Ladies' Auxiliary, where she presided as Past President. She worked closely with the Visiting Homemaker's of Ocean County and enjoyed her daily gardening and golf outings. Lila was predeceased by her parents, sister, Mary Golden and brother, Joseph "Babe" Cutar. She was a loving, dedicated wife to her husband of 45 years, David B. Burrows and a devoted mother to her daughters Theresa Vosseller and her husband, Lloyd and Mary Koerwer and her husband, John and her sons Joseph Hanselmann and his wife Maria and Robert Hanselmann and his wife, Catherine. She will be missed by her sister, Anna Laratta, brother Vince Cutar, 6 grandsons, 7 granddaughters and her one great granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lila's charity of choice, the Surf City Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, 713 North Long Beach Blvd., Surf City, NJ 08008, in her memory. Services will be privately held and are under the direction of Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home in Ship Bottom.
