Margaret McMonagle Obituary



McMONAGLE, MARGARET L. 68 - of Atlantic City, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital, surrounded by her family, following a brief battle with cancer.Margaret was born in Charleston, West Virginia to Wheeler and Hilma Hercules. She resided in Wellsburg, West Virginia and graduated from Wellsburg High School, Margaret was a graduate of Potomac State College in Keyser, West Virginia. As a college student, Margaret came to Atlantic City to work and fell in love with. Atlantic City. Margaret married Joseph McMonagle and through their union she had six children.Margaret worked for Bally's Park Place in Atlantic City. After her retirement from Bally's she worked for the City of Atlantic City as a School Crossing Guard and at the M. Sykes Realty. Margaret enjoyed traveling, the beach, boardwalk and horseback. riding. She coached softball at Chelsea Little League.In addition to her parents, Margaret is predeceased by her son Joseph Mickey McMonagle, brother Thomas Hercules, sister Rebecca Smith and long-time companion, James Sykes. Surviving are her children Jenny Darnell (Joe), Margaret "Peggy" McMonagle, Michael McMonagle (fiancee' Stephanie Wagner), all of Atlantic City, Kevin McMonagle of Ashville, North Carolina and Tracy Talley (Joe) of Galloway Township. Grandchildren; Morgan McMonagle, Chrissy Darnell, Stacy Darnell, Jennifer McMonagle, all of Atlantic City, Dana McMonagle (fiance' Adam Weshler) of Clementon, Joseph McMonagle of Northfield, Joseph and Abigail Talley of Galloway Township and great granddaughter Cassidy Ross of Atlantic City. Also surviving her brother David Hercules (Jackie) of Ohio, sister, Martha Gonzales of Weirton, W.V, numerous nieces and nephews & friends who will miss her easy going way, thoughtfulness and kindness.Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday October 12, 2005 at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, Tennessee and Pacific Avenues in Atlantic City. Friends may call from 10am. until 12:00 noon. Her Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 12:00 noon. Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to: St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church, Tennessee and Pacific Avenues, Atlantic City, N.J. 08401. So sorry to hear of your Mom's/Grandmom's passing. I hope you ALL know she is with GOD and he will take care of her NOW. She raised a beautiful family and Lord knows that's hard work...! You all know he only takes the best. Now her and Mickey can embrace each other again and prepare for the rest of the clan.
