Mary Hartman Obituary

Hartman, Mary "Diane", - of Atlantic City, after several years battling Parkinson's disease, Mary Diane Hartman passed away on January 19th. Diane will be remembered for many funny and loving things. Born to Joe and Anne Kohler on April 16, 1947, Diane's early years were spent in Baltimore with her two younger brother's, Dale and Lance. Diane also had a sister, Anne Marie, who was born with a serious medical challenge and passed away at an early age. Diane graduated from Towson High School in Towson, Md, and was recognized in her senior yearbook as "Having The Best Personality" in her graduating class of 1966. This will be no surprise for those many, many close friends that she made in her 75 years. Her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Edward (Ed) Hartman lasted 56 years right up until her passing. Diane was known as a character, a fun loving (she loved her Corona's) and loyal spouse to Ed and loving mother to her only son, EJ. Diane moved several times early on to accompany her husband's career, from Baltimore to Brunswick, Ohio and onto York PA and finally landing in Medford, NJ in 1979. Being a Cosmetologist and licensed in Ohio, Diane enjoyed the too many to mention friends she made along the way. She also enjoyed her travels around the country and the many foreign countries she visited with her husband, both for pleasure and business. Diane also so much enjoyed her many cruises, especially her Alaskan cruise. Diane was especially close to her grandmother, Helen and her grandmother felt the same way about Diane. Diane had several nicknames, among them "The Boss" and "The Aunt". For those that knew her, The Boss moniker needed no explanation. She was the Boss, the matriarch of the family. Diane hosted every Holiday up until her passing. Diane especially loved her nieces, Emilie and Leah and her two great nieces Ava and Ari. Diane was also most proud of her nephews Adam Hartman, Jessie Kohler, Brandon Hale and Jared Hale who passed away several years ago. Diane also loved her sisters-in-law, Joanne Shue and Irene Hartman and bother in laws, Tim Hartman and Wayne Shue. She was also close to her cousins Wayne, Kenny and Donna Jean and their families. And finally, Diane will be missed by her puppy black lab, Maggie Mae. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 26th at the George H. Wimberg Funeral Home, 1707 New Rd., Linwood, from 10am-11am, followed by a service at 11am, with a happy farewell get together afterwards at her favorite tavern. Condolences can be extended to the family at ghwimberg.com.

Ed very sorry to hear about Diane. We always enjoyed her company and will miss her smile and her warm personality. We had a lot of fun at your house in Medford watching the Eagles. Have not seen much of your guys lately but have warm memories. We now live in Florida at this time of year so we can't be there to share our condolences.
