MATTHEW M. PREVITI

PREVITI, MATTHEW M. 64 - of Somers Point, formerly of Margate, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born July 4, 1945 in Atlantic City to Anthony C. "Sears" Previti and Louise (nee Gerbino) Previti, both deceased. He graduated from Atlantic City High School Class of 1963 and University of South Carolina. He worked for the Atlantic County Special Services Welfare Dept. before retiring in 2000. Matthew is survived by a son, David, his wife Crystal and grandson, Michael of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Angela P. Crawford and her husband James, and niece Christina; a brother, Anthony C. Previti and his wife Stephanie M., and nephews Vincent (Danielle) and Anthony M. Previti. Also survived by aunts and uncles; Mae and Dan Mercanto, Carmen Gerbino, Vera Previti, Marina Previti, and many cousins. Matt was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Boston Celtics, an unusual combination. He enjoyed his trips to Florida and regular visits to his Alma Mater in South Carolina which meant so much to him. He will be missed by many friends, especially Eddie Woods, who was always there for him. Gratefully taken care of by friends, Joanne Jones and Lynn Chowdhury in his time of need. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, where relatives and friends may visit from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM with memorial service to follow.
