Maureen Begley Obituary

BEGLEY, MAUREEN, (nee Buckley), - of Northfield, passed from this life, after fighting a long illness on August 29, 2008, at her home away from home in Ventnor. She is survived by her loving husband Daniel and her two beautiful and precious sons Danny and Devin. Her sons were her grea joy, they were her sunshine. She was totally dedicated to every aspect of their life and happiness. She was their biggest fan at little league and all of their other activities. She was the faithful/caring daughter of Frank (deceased) and Loretta Buckley, She leaves her siblings, Frank, Mark and Denise Van Dyke, in-laws, nieces and nephews, her dearest friend, Stephanie Russo, who was her constant companion in her final year, as well as many wonderful friends and loved ones. She was born on September 9, 1965 in Philadelphia and was a life-long resident of the seashore. Maureen was a talented softball player and an avid Phillies fan. She was a member of the Polar Bear Club and greeted each New Year with an icy dip in the Atlantic Ocean. She loved to travel with family and friends. She was employed by Kathy and Dick Burke of the Irish Pub in Atlantic City for 24 years. She held dear her countless friends and fond memories of her many years at the Pub and considered them her second family. Reene was a calm and courageous woman whose kindness and generosity of spirit touched all who knew her. She bravely persevered through many challenges over her life, and her last challenge was her most difficult. We were blessed to have had this beautiful, loving and devoted woman in our lives and will hold close her memory as an inspiration. The viewing will take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 from 6 until 9pm, at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home,1650 New Road, Northfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church, 1421 New Road, Northfield, on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 11a.m. Burial will be at Laurel Memorial Park in Pomona, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Daniel and Devin Begley College Fund" c/o Richard Bucaro, Wachovia Securities, 414 Main St, Suite 101, Port Jefferson, NY 11777.
