Michael J. Saunders

1950 - 2022

Saunders, Michael J., - 71, of Cape May Court House, NJ passed away on January 14, 2022. He was born in East Lansdowne, PA, the son of the late Charles and Myrtle (nee Foley) Saunders. Michael graduated from Lansdowne-Aldan High School in 1968. He was an Army veteran and served in Vietnam from January 1969 - January 1970. Michael stayed in contact with men he served with and loved them dearly. As a young dad, Michael coached CYO and community sports teams combining his love of sports and children. He also was a former member of the Rio Grande Fire House. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Eleanore (nee Horn) and children Megan and Matthew (Jennifer). Being Poppy to his three grandchildren Addie, Zeke, and Emmie brought him tremendous joy. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews who frequently referred to him as their favorite uncle. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 35 East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, NJ from 10:00 to 10:45 am with his Memorial Mass to begin at 11:00 am.
