Pascal Pironti Obituary

Pascal Anthony Pironti

February 2, 1934 - February 9, 2025

Pascal Anthony Pironti MD, 91, of Jensen Beach Florida, died at home on February 9, 2025. Pat was a beloved physician practicing Urology in Summit, NJ for over three decades.

Born on February 2, 1934, in Newark, NJ. Pat was the youngest of three and grew up with two older sisters, Lillian and Jean. He always joked that when he was 5 years old, his mother told him he would grow up to be a doctor. And indeed, he did, attending Johns Hopkins University followed by Hahnemann Medical School. His early years of private medical practice were interrupted by two years in the US Army for which he received the Army Commendation for Meritorious Service.

Upon his return, Pat established his medical practice in Summit, NJ. He was a respected member of Overlook Hospital's staff, serving as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Urology, Vice President, and President of the Medical staff. Pat was a member of the Board of Trustees of both Overlook Hospital and the Overlook Foundation as well as President of the Union County Medical Society. In 2004, Pat was immensely proud to be awarded Overlook Hospital's Lifetime Achievement Award for Medical Service acknowledging his tremendous contributions to the Overlook community.

Even when Pat "retired" to Ocean City, NJ to enjoy his second passiongolfhe was never far from medicine. Between rounds with friends and family, and trips to play minigolf on the boardwalk with his grandchildren, Pat was still invigorated by seeing patients. Pat took a part-time position as a Urologist for Cooper University Hospital in Camden where he delighted in teaching "residents who are younger than my children!" When he left New Jersey for the South Florida coast in 2017, Pat continued to serve as Chairman of Overlook Hospital's Credentials Committee, helping to vet the next generation of physicians for Overlook's staff.

Pat is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Vicki Pironti, and his children, Louis Pironti and Carolyn Stuenkel, and his granddaughter, Julia Stuenkel. He will be tremendously missed by the Pironti and Rest children and grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Pat's life will be held on March 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace church in New Providence, NJ. Following the service, the family will host a luncheon at L'Allegria Restaurant in Madison, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Overlook Foundation.
