Richard Norwood Obituary

Richard R. Norwood Jr., 36 was born in Atlantic City on May 30, 1989. He sadly left this life on July 17, 2025 in Atlanta, Ga. Richard loved sports, as he was an amazing baseball, hockey and football player, as well as an avid skier and snowboarder. He also had a great ear for music as a he enjoyed entertaining friends and family with his drumming skills.

Growing up, Richard was an A/B honor roll student year after year, winning spelling bees and oratorical contests. He moved to Atlanta where he ultimately became a skilled electrician. When he had free time, he could always be counted on to be at a cafe enjoying breakfast.

He left this Earth knowing many loved him and is survived by: Richard Norwood Sr (father), Betty Newkirk (mother), his daughter Janiyah Hill (whom he loved dearly and was a daddy's girl), brothers (Ronald D. Hammie, Jr & Jeremiah Norwood), sisters (Taneisha Newkirk & Lynroia Norwood) along with a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Private services were held in Atlanta, Ga and the family asks that he be remembered for the great person he was.
