Some of my fondest memories of summer vacation are of visiting my Godparents - Uncle Dick and Aunt Ann - in Ocean City. Those were the days!!!

Uncle Dick, All of your nieces and nephews remember how much fun we had in Ocean City. Visiting the boat yard, going to the beach, seeing you fishing with our dad - what memories! Love, Pat (Niemy) Kubacki

My fondest memories of the shore are those with Uncle Dick and my Dad. They did their best to entertain us on the beach and always succeeded with their hand-stand walk into the ocean. I'll love and remember you always. Give Daddy a kiss for me. Love, Judy (Hicke) DeSantis

Just heard about the sad lost of "Hawk". Many fond memories from working the summers during my college years at Sampson Bros. Boat Yard and fishing Ocean City, Maryland at the Ship's Cafe.

When I read his nickname as "Hawk" in his obituary I heard my dad's voice saying it. As a kid I loved visiting the boatyard. I can still smell the saltwater and hear the creaking of the boats as they strained against their lines. But most of all I remember the low hum of men's voices coming from the back room where the guys would gather to tell their "fish stories". It was a magical place. Uncle Dick always seemed glad to see me and as a kid, that meant a lot. I know Dad has been waiting for him.

He meant an awful lot to my father. Hopefully they are together again sharing stories & cracking jokes as they always did in the back room at Sampson Brothers Boat Yard. I will always remember him as Uncle Dick.
