Ronald Lewis Obituary

Lewis, Ronald J. 93 of Destin, Florida passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025. Born on July 5, 1932 to Arthur and Merle Lewis in Shamokin, PA. His two siblings, Emma (Betty) and Robert predeceased him. Ronald (Ron) grew up in the Philadelphia area. He was a graduate of Mastbaum Vocational High School and served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps as a Microwave Radio Repairman during the Korean War. In October, 1955, Ron married the love of his life, Claire Yungblut who preceded him in death in April, 2020. Ron was a proud father and is survived by three wonderful children: Sharon and her husband Arthur Rea of Sarasota, FL; Gary and his wife Elizabeth of Stroudsburg, PA; and Gregg and his wife Diane of Destin, FL. Ron is also survived by nine wonderful grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Matthew and James Rea; Gary, Gregory (wife Emily, their children Leah and Logan), Kimberly (husband Daniel Kreckman), and Kelly Lewis; Nicholas, Andrew, and Daniel Lewis. Ron worked for Bell of PA and Bell Atlantic for 33 years, retiring in April 1988 as Staff Manager of Electronic Networks. In 1999, Ron and Claire relocated from Holland, PA to Four Seasons in Smithville, NJ where they enjoyed many years of retirement. Ron was a lifelong Phillies fan, enjoyed horseshoes, wood working and was an avid fisherman. In 2020, Ron and Claire moved to Destin, FL. Ron enjoyed many years of fishing and playing dominos and was affectionately called PopPop by those who knew and loved him.
