Steven C. Falkenstein

1955 - 2022

Falkenstein, Steven C., - 67, of Galloway Township, Steven C. Falkenstein, 67, passed in peace July 3, 2022 at Temple University Hospital - Jeanes Campus after a lengthy illness. Just like everything in his life, he faced his cancer with the utmost bravery and tenacity all while maintaining his sense of humor. On his final day, he was surrounded by his wife of 48 years and his family. Steve was born June 3, 1955 in Camden, NJ. He is preceded in death by parents, Francis & Elizabeth Falkenstein and his brother Francis Falkenstein. After graduating from High School he pursued a lifelong career in the railroad industry. While his 49 year career began with Conrail, the majority of it was spent with Amtrak where he retired as Deputy Chief Engineer-Maintenance. He then concluded his career as a Consultant with HNTB. While working full time for the railroad he obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Cabrini College and a Master of Business Administration from Centenary College. He served as a member on the board of trustees within his community and was also a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Steve was a devoted husband and father. "Poppy" also loved spending time with his two grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and enthusiast of karaoke. He is survived by his beloved wife Karen, as well as son Steven (Rebecca), son Matthew (Kimberly) and his two grandsons Steven and Maximus. Please join us in celebrating his life Friday, July 8th from 10:00-11:00am, funeral to follow at Community Presbyterian Church 1501 W. Brigantine Ave, Brigantine. Interment is Private.
